The proposed project aims to improve the livelihood of targeted river basin communities through an integrated water resource management (IWRM) approach that addresses resilient infrastructure, sustainable asset management, and climate adaptation needs in the target river basins. The target river basin groups cover the rivers of Moung Russey, Pursat, Sanker, and Svay Don Keo, all located in the southwest of the Tonle Sap Lake in Cambodia.
The Project Preparation Special Fund (PPSF) grant will be blended with Technical Assistance (TA) grants from the Asian Development Bank, and will be critical in conducting the later stage of project preparation activities to help finalize important procurement documents and prepare for project implementation. The PPSF grant will finance consultancy services for detailed engineering designs and procurement packages of the investment project.
The PPSF grant will be primarily implemented by the Ministry of Water Resources and Meteorology (MOWRAM) of Cambodia. Of the total grant of USD1.43 million, USD0.05 will be executed directly by AIIB for urgent start-up preparatory activities.
