What is the AIIB Annual Meeting?
  • The Annual Meeting is the flagship event of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB). This event showcases AIIB’s accomplishments and provides an opportunity to gather invaluable insights and guidance from shareholders on AIIB's strategic direction and initiatives. It is also a dynamic hub where delegates from AIIB Members can dialogue with partners, business leaders, civil society organizations and experts from a range of fields from all around the world.
  • AIIB Annual Meetings have been held in various AIIB Members, including China, Korea, India, Luxembourg and Egypt.
When and where is the 2024 AIIB Annual Meeting?
  • This year's Annual Meeting will take place in the historic city of Samarkand, Uzbekistan, on September 25-26, 2024. The principal venue of the Annual Meeting will be the Silk Road Samarkand Congress Center (SRSCC).

What is the Annual Meeting Public Program?
  • The Public Program of the 2024 Annual Meeting is a series of public engagement seminars that focus on AIIB’s key business objectives and strategic priorities through panel discussions, keynote speeches and presentations. The Host Government is also invited to stage public seminars during the Annual Meeting. The Public Program seminars are open to all Annual Meeting participants.
What is the Annual Meeting Marketplace?
  • The Marketplace of the AIIB 2024 Annual Meeting is a newly introduced initiative designed to showcase AIIB’s diverse portfolio of projects, operations, policies and products. It consists of nine sessions: a Business Opportunities Workshop, a Talent Acquisition session, an introduction to AIIB’s InfraTech Portal, and six project showcases. These sessions are open to all Annual Meeting participants.

  • Registration for the Annual Meeting is free. However, you will need to bear all costs related to your travel, accommodation, visa and others.

How do I travel to Samarkand?
  • Travelers may arrive at Samarkand directly by air, or transit via trains from Tashkent. Please arrange your travel early.
Is there a rail arrangement between Tashkent and Samarkand?
  • Limited complimentary Afrosiyob high-speed rail tickets between Tashkent and Samarkand will be available for in-person collection on a first-come, first-served basis. However, we also encourage you to purchase your own tickets through your preferred channel.
  • Tickets from Tashkent to Samarkand will be available for collection at Tashkent Central Railway Station (Stantsiya Tashkent Pass Tsentr).
  • Tickets from Samarkand to Tashkent will be available for collection at the transport desk in the Hilton Samarkand Regency Hotel during event dates.
  • The exact train schedule and location for ticket collection will be published on the Annual Meeting Website and APP in due course.
How can I book a hotel in Samarkand?
  • Once your registration has been approved, you will be able to book your accommodation for the 2024 Annual Meeting using the hotel link included in your registration confirmation email. You are encouraged to book your hotel accommodation as early as possible. If you need any assistance, please contact AIIBregistration@delegate.com.
  • Please note that hotel reservations made via this site are not directly managed by AIIB, and are considered individual personal bookings for which you hold sole responsibility.
How should I arrange my transport in Tashkent?
  • Taxis are easily available from train stations and hotels. The most popular e-hailing app is Yandex. Uber does not have a presence in Uzbekistan.
How should I arrange my transport in Samarkand?
  • For airport pickup and drop-off, complimentary shuttle buses will be available to transport attendees between Samarkand Airport and partner hotels in the Silk Road Samarkand complex for all Annual Meeting participants. Individual travelers may check the Annual Meeting Helpdesk in the arrival hall at the airport for more information.
  • During the Annual Meeting, there will be regular shuttle services that can transport attendees between the partner hotels in the Silk Road Samarkand complex and the venue. Shuttle schedules will be available at the Annual Meeting Helpdesks in the partner hotels and uploaded on the Annual Meeting App.
  • Participants staying outside the Silk Road Samarkand complex need to arrange their own transport to and from the Annual Meeting venue.
How will catering be organized?
  • Buffet lunches will be available for all Annual Meeting participants in the Sun Lounge, SRSCC from 12:00 noon to 1:30 p.m. on September 25 and 26.
  • Tea and coffee will be available in the venue in selected areas on both days.
  • All food products served are halal.
Is the Annual Meeting badge mandatory to enter the Annual Meeting venue? Where do I get my Annual Meeting badge to enter the Silk Road Samarkand Congress Center?
  • Annual Meeting badges will be produced based on successful registration and distributed to each participant. All participants must display their badges throughout the Annual Meeting for venue access and security purposes.
  • Badge printing service and collection will be available from September 23 to 26 at the Annual Meeting registration center next to the SRSCC.
  • Participants may collect their badges by showing their passports or their registration confirmation emails.
What is the Annual Meeting Mobile App?
  • The Annual Meeting Mobile App will be launched shortly before the Annual Meeting. All participants are encouraged to download the app, which will contain the necessary and up-to-date information about the program, speakers and logistical details. The app will be available to download for free from the App Store and Google Play after its launch. Further information will be circulated once available.
Is there an alternative way to attend the Annual Meeting?
  • A livestreaming channel will be established for select sessions shortly before the Annual Meeting.
