The Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank (AIIB) has appointed Gustavo De Rosa as Chief Financial Officer effective today. De Rosa will oversee the Bank’s controller and treasury functions and lead financial planning, reporting and resource management to support the Bank’s strategic objectives and sustainable growth.
De Rosa brings more than three decades of international experience in finance, treasury, risk management, banking operations and strategic planning across multilateral development institutions and the private sector. He joins AIIB from the Inter-American Development Bank (IDB), where he had served as Chief Financial Officer and General Manager of the Finance Department since 2015 and Chief Risk Officer before that. He also served as IDB's Vice President for Finance and Administration from 2021 to 2024.
“Sound financial stewardship is key to AIIB’s ability to scale up financing and deliver lasting development impact,” AIIB President Zou Jiayi said. “Gustavo brings deep experience across finance, treasury and risk management. His leadership will help us build on the Bank’s financial strength to support our members and clients as AIIB enters its second decade.”
Before joining IDB, De Rosa served as Chief Risk and Operating Officer for ING's corporate banking operations in Spain and held various management positions with ING in Argentina, the Netherlands and Spain. Earlier in his career, he spent more than eight years with Deutsche Bank in Argentina and Germany.
De Rosa is from Spain and holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration from the Universidad Argentina de la Empresa as well a master’s degree in banking management from the Centro de Estudios Macroeconómicos de la República Argentina. He completed postgraduate work in management and strategic planning at the European Business School Schloss Reichartshausen in Germany.
